The Road to Joseph by Tammy Fernando on Amazon
Tammy Fernando does it again with her latest children’s book, The Road to Joseph. Chris wants to be Joseph in the Christmas pageant. But when an injury sidelines him, he must learn to trust in the ups and downs of God’s plan. With his good friend Shani by his side, Chris learns to believe in the impossible.
For anyone who has grown up with the tradition of being in a Christmas pageant, and anyone who likes to watch or participate in theater, this story will resonate with your heart. Chris and his classmates are so relatable, and the whole story is infused with radiant joy.
Fernando continues to use the Holy Trinity as characters that children can see and understand: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus with a crown) and God the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. God is woven throughout the story, just as He is always present in our lives, watching over every detail. No desire is too small for His attention, and Chris wants to play Joseph with his whole heart!
I would love to see a resurgence of Christmas pageants in Catholic churches worldwide. This book could be the catalyst for renewed interest in areas like mine, where few churches do them anymore. Pageants are a great way to get children involved in the Christmas story.
