Happy Valentine’s Day to all! In honor of St. Valentine, it is a sheer delight to present to you this lovely little book of quotes from the Saints. No, not the football team from New Orleans! I mean the team of priests, poets, teachers, and martyrs of all stripes who came before us and gave us the great gift of their pithy wisdom.
In this single volume, the love and intelligence of saints ancient and modern shine on every page, with one quote for each day of the year. Eddie Cotter, Jr., the founder of the aptly named Dead Theologians Society has compiled some of the best quotes from the early Church fathers, virgin martyrs, and popes. He has also included more modern saints and blesseds like Saint Josemaria Escriva, Fr. Solanus Casey, and Pier Giorgio Frassati.
Each daily quote is starkly printed with white letters on a black background, reminiscent of intertitles in silent movies. The dialogue or narration would be printed out so that people could follow the action. This is highly appropriate for this little book, as we can no longer hear these saints in person, but reading their words boldly printed makes it easier to imagine them actually speaking to us aloud.

This is the perfect book to gift for teen birthdays, sacraments, and special occasions. It is also a wonderful gift for people who have never heard of the Saints and their wisdom.
